Cold Hollow to Canada – Citizen Science: Keeping Track
A program to inspire community participation in the stewardship of wildlife habitat in the Cold Hollow to Canada area.
Our ultimate vision is that millions of Smartphone users will use CyberTracker to capture observations on a daily basis. Data streaming into the Internet will make it possible to monitor the entire global ecosystem in real time.
David Brown’s Wildlife Services
David Brown’s Wildlife Services provides several services focused on New England wildlife including interpretive programs,wildlife inventories, docent training for interpretive walk leaders, and wildlife education planning for organizations.
Keeping Track’s mission is to inspire community participation in the long-term stewardship of wildlife habitat. We teach adults and children to observe, interpret, record and monitor evidence of wildlife habitat in their communities, and we support the use of monitoring data by citizens in local and regional conservation planning. Keeping Track’s focus on wide ranging mammals provides a vital indictor of the ecological health of the landscape as a whole.
Lead with Nature is a tracking, consulting, and education- based organization based in Maine that’s led by Dan Gardoqui, a certified wildlife tracker, bird language expert, nature-based consultant, educator, and guide. He teaches both in-person and online classes, leads guided tours, and much more.
The mindful tracker focuses on the skills needed to recognize and follow animal signs while realizing that these skills present opportunities for the tracker to more fully and deeply connect with themselves, others, and the world around them.

Southwest Wildlife Online Tracking and Training
Southwest Wildlife Online Tracking Training is a distance learning wildlife track and sign identification training resource. Its mission is to teach track & sign identification to beginning students in a way that assists them in achieving Cybertracker certification (trackercertification.com) within two years. Our approach emphasizes track & sign analysis. We promote wildlife conservation by limiting admission to applicants who are involved, or who intend to use track & sign identification, in some aspect of wildlife conservation.

Tracking is all about following marks left by animals. It involves their actual tracks, as well as scat and other signs. Tracking skills will of course enable you to get close enough to a live animal to kill it for food and hides and other materials useful in a survival situation.
