On Saturday, June 9, 2007, volunteers arrived at the boat launch. We cleaned near the bridge on Brookside Road and then along East Sheffield Road. |
The Great Barrington Conservation Agent, Elaine Hines, had a plan for the morning. And BEAT and HVA brought some supplies. There were coffee and donut holes to fuel the work. |
Ben was the master at hauling stuff up the bank and then on to the piles. There was plenty of stuff to haul over the course of the day. |

There was a stove, half buried in the river, at the bottom of a very steep bank. |
These three tugged and dug to finally get the entire stove out of the river. |
The stove came up in pieces, along with lots of other garbage. |
