Working Lands Series: “Get to know your Forester!”
April 2, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Saturday, April 2 @ 12:00 — 1:30 PM
A new Williamstown Rural Lands program focuses on Working Lands, hosting site visits to Berkshire area farms and forests to meet the people who work them! Next up in the series is “Get to know your Forester!” when you’ll meet Forester Averill Cook at Wendling Farm in Williamstown.
Tour the forest with Averill and learn about the history of wood use for energy, paper, and building materials. Find out about how our woodlands help keep our air and water clean. Get to know the ideal growing conditions and how to measure trees for their energy and lumber value. The program is for all ages and will take place rain or shine; participants should wear appropriate clothing for being outdoors!
Registration is required and is limited to 20 participants. Tickets are free for members and $3 per person for non-members. (Under 5 are free.)
Wendling Farm is located at 753 Oblong Road, Williamstown, MA.
Meet at Wendling Farm on Saturday, April 2 at noon. The visit will last approximately 1 1/2 hours.
