Discover the ephemeral wonder of vernal pools with Hilltown Land Trust and naturalist Nellie Wilson! Join us for a walk in the woods where we’ll explore the rich biodiversity within vernal pools. From fairy shrimp to salamanders, these temporary habitats offer a unique and necessary ecosystem for some of our region’s most interesting species. This walk and talk will cover vernal pool basics and allow you to get up close and personal with some of the life in the pool as Nellie describes the fascinating ecology of these microhabitats.

All ages are welcome to join this event! Due to the sensitive ecological nature of this event, we ask that you leave non-service dogs at home. This event has a sliding donation scale of $0 – $25.

LOCATION: The VPP will be held on private land in Plainfield on Rt 116, roughly 2 miles west of the Plainfield Town Hall. Details and directions provided upon registration.
