Tree Planting for Riparian Restoration
April 26, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller NHP hosts this virtual workshop on the basics of tree planting for riparian zones. Riparian zones are the buffer of trees growing along the edge of rivers and lakes. These trees are essential to protect water from pollutants, prevent erosion, and provide habitat for wildlife. Ron Rhodes, the Director of Restoration Programs with the Connecticut River Conservancy, will lead a virtual presentation including all the background information needed to plan a successful tree planting, including species selection, habitat selection, sourcing stock, and continual maintenance.
This event is organized by Vermont Coverts.
