Talk on the Hill: “Managing the Appalachian Trail: 101 Years in 20 minutes!”
April 7, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Thursday, April 7 @ 7:00 — 8:30 PM
Just what does it take to manage over a 2000-mile trail, and what are lessons learned? Join the Williamstown Rural Lands (WRL) Community Talk on the Hill by WRL Trail Committee Chair Cosmo Catalano Jr.
Cosmo explains, “From a 1921 utopian vision of a place for the masses to escape growing urbanization, to an iconic, world-renowned recreational and conservation resource, the Appalachian Trail is made possible by private and public entities working towards a common goal. Are there lessons for managing trails in Williamstown?”
Cosmo Catalano is in his 4th year as Chair of WRL’s Trails Committee. He has served as a volunteer on the Appalachian Trail for more than 20 years, and continues to play a role in the local maintenance and management of the Appalachian Trail.
The talk will take place on Thursday, April 7th from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Zoom. The talk will be introduced by Robin Sears, Williamstown Rural Lands new Executive Director. A Q&A session will follow the talk.
