Spring Lecture Series: The Unique Courtship of the American Woodcock

March 14 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

When the sun sets in early spring, woodcock love is in the air. Wet meadows and fields are transformed into a “runway” for the beautiful aerial courtship displays of this intriguing bird. At this indoor presentation, learn about the natural history of the American Woodcock, including where and why they dance. Mass Audubon will also recommend a few possible places (or even upcoming programs you can sign up for) to search for this local spectacle.

Although this program is primarily indoors, it could include an optional outdoor exploration at the end depending on where we’re offering this program. See “Instructions and Directions” for more information about whether an optional outdoor component is included as part of this program.
