Spotted Lanternfly in MA
August 17, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Wednesday, August 17 @ 10:00 AM
The spotted lanternfly is an invasive pest that feeds on the sap of trees and other woody plants. They were first detected in Pennsylvania in 2014 and have since spread to NJ, NY, OH, IN, DE, VA, and WV. Read more on their life cycle here.
They are not yet established in Massachusetts, but their egg masses can easily hitchhike on nursery plants. See MDAR’s press release for more information on how to identify egg masses.
This webinar, hosted by the Mass. Dept. of Agricultural Resources, will provide the green industry, environmental groups, and other interested parties with the latest information about spotted lanternfly occurrences, survey updates, and more.
