Seeds, Sprays, and So Much More: How Neonicotinoid Insecticides are Impacting Birds
July 19, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
It’s been 10 years since American Bird Conservancy (ABC) published its monumental report: The Impact of the Nation’s Most Widely Used Insecticides on Birds which documented impacts from neonicotinoids (aka neonics) on our feathered friends. A decade later, and not much has changed in the regulatory landscape, though the body of knowledge and evidence around neonics’ devastation has. ABC’s new report, called “Neonicotinoid insecticides: Failing to come to grips with a predictable environmental disaster,” compiles the last decades’ worth of neonicotinoids research on wildlife and ecosystem impacts.
Join ABC’s Director of the Pesticides and Birds Campaign, Hardy Kern, world-renowned ecotoxicologist Dr. Pierre Mineau, and the Center for Food Safety’s Amy van Saun for a FREE webinar as they discuss the new report, the ways we can change systems to help birds, and a novel approach to encouraging the EPA to address neonicotinoid seed coatings.
