Old Mill Trail Reopening Ceremony
October 23 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Join Berkshire Natural Resources Council to celebrate the recently completed renovations at Old Mill Trail with a FREE, public ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, October 23, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. The event will be held at the trail’s newly upgraded parking lot and accessible entry point, located along Route 8 in Hinsdale. The rain date is set for Thursday, October 24, at the same time and location.
BNRC has transformed the parking lot and sections of the trail to meet Forest Service Trail Accessibility standards, ensuring that wheelchairs, strollers, and other mobility devices can now easily access the scenic 1.4 miles of Old Mill Trails. These improvements are part of BNRC’s ongoing efforts to make outdoor recreation more inclusive and welcoming for all.
The public is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting event, which will feature a variety of activities for all ages. Highlights include a guided hike along the accessible portion of the trail and a kids’ activity that encourages young participants to connect with the outdoors. Light refreshments will be provided throughout the celebration.
The event will also include remarks from BNRC President Jenny Hansell on the importance of accessible green spaces in the Berkshires.
