Dr. David Wagner is an entomologist and a professor of ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Connecticut. He is the author of Caterpillars of Eastern North America. His work focuses on the biosystematics of Lepidoptera and invertebrate conservation. While his taxonomic expertise is with basal lineages of moths, especially ghost moths (Hepialidae) and leafminers (e.g., Tischeriidae and Gracillariidae), his research interests extend across the order Lepidoptera.
