Fireside Chat With Environmentalist And Author Bill McKibben (Boston Globe Climate Week)
November 16, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm
About the Virtual Event
The urgency of the climate crisis cannot be overstated. As climate-fueled catastrophes mount, and time runs out to keep warming in check, the world is now focused on action. On the heels of the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Globe climate reporter Sabrina Shankman talks with Bill McKibben about what can be done to mitigate the crisis and how the world can rise to the challenge. McKibben is an author, educator, and environmentalist, who helped found 350.org, the first global grassroots climate campaign, and who has recently helped found Third Act, to build a progressive organizing movement for people over the age of 60. His 1989 book, The End of Nature, is regarded as the first book for a general audience about climate change.
