The next Housatonic Citizens Coordinating Council (CCC) Meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, from 6 PM to 8 PM via Zoom. There is a link to the full draft agenda on EPA’s website. 

The draft agenda includes recognition of our dear friend, Thelma Barzottini, who recently passed away. Thelma always had a question or comment at these meetings! She was a tireless watchdog of this remediation process. 

Also on the agenda is time for the Technical Assistance Grant recipient to speak. Then, a review of upcoming field activities, including year-one baseline monitoring events; Reach 5A sediment, bank, and floodplain sampling; and investigations of the area where the upland disposal facility (dump) is proposed to be. The EPA will review received documents that the public is invited to comment upon. They will also go over sediment sampling for the already-remediated part of the river and discuss the status of the Rest of River Permit.
