“Moth Mystique: Illuminating the Dark Side of Winged Wonders” with Carla Rhodes at Berkshire Biodiversity Day

Join the dark side with conservation photographer and moth enthusiast Carla Rhodes for a captivating presentation on the kaleidoscopic world of moths. While showcasing her backyard moth photography, Carla will share why moths are essential to our ecosystem, and how to steward your outdoor surroundings to attract moths. You’ll also learn the basics of “mothing” with simple setups for attracting and observing these nocturnal winged wonders. Don’t miss this chance to uncover the secrets of the “moth mafia” and immerse yourself in the mesmerizing world of moths at the 15th Berkshire Biodiversity Day!

This presentation is one of many taking place during this year’s Berkshire Biodiversity Day that’s taking place on September 13–14, from noon to noon, on the Berkshire Community College campus. In addition to the presentations, there will be guided walks and demonstrations led by experts, all of which are free and open to the public. The four slideshow presentations, which range in topics from lichen to moths, will each last for forty-five minutes and involve Q&A.
