Beginner Naturalist Walk at Wild Acres (Housatonic Heritage Walk)

Join Chelsey Simmons of Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT) for a leisurely guided naturalist walk in Wild Acres Park, a Pittsfield Conservation Area that contains an expansive wetland and forested walking trails. Chelsey will lead participants to observe some of the wonderful things you can find in nature during late summer in the Berkshires and talk about the area’s plants, animals, fungi, and natural history. Walking conditions will be easy. There is a limit of 10 participants. Registration is required. The walk will be around 1.5 miles and take about 2 hours.

DATE: Saturday, September 7

TIME: 10 AM  – 12 PM

LOCATION: Wild Acres Park, S. Mountain Rd, Pittsfield, MA

DIRECTIONS: Wild Acres is located off South Mountain Road in Pittsfield, MA, which connects to Barker Rd (or Swamp Rd) and Rt 7/20 (South Street). Visitors will find a large parking lot at the end of a long driveway that intersects with South Mountain Road. If the main gate is closed, an additional parking lot is located halfway down the driveway. GPS Coordinates: 42.429035, -73.281083
