2024 Housatonic Heritage Walks
October 6 @ 10:00 am - 2:30 pm
Explore with knowledgeable & local historians, naturalists, and environmentalists at sites within the Housatonic River Valley: tours of historic buildings and town centers, hikes on the Appalachian Trail and other trails, walks through industrial heritage sites, a canoe paddling trip on the Housatonic River, bike rides on old country roads that have a history, behind-the-scenes tours at performing arts venues, and strolls through formal gardens and estates. All ages & all people are invited to join us!

10:30 AM–12:00 PM:BEHIND THE SCENES TOUR OF TANGLEWOOD–BOSTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA’S SUMMER HOME (Lenox, MA)
11:00 AM–12:30 PM: A NATURE WALKING TOUR AT GOLDEN HILL TOWN FOREST (LEE, MA)
11:00 AM–1:00 PM: TOUR MOON IN THE POND FARM (Sheffield, MA)
1:00–3:00 PM: THE HISTORY OF INDIAN TOWN, STOCKBRIDGE (Stockbridge, MA)
1:00–2:30 PM: THE CHESTER GRANITE AND POLISHING WORKS (Chester, MA)

The Housatonic Heritage Walks are a partnership between the Upper Housatonic Valley National Heritage Area, the numerous heritage organizations in the Upper Housatonic River Valley, the Berkshire Eagle, Berkshire Bank, and the National Park Service.
