Thank you to all the volunteers who helped cleanup the river!

We have the most wonderful volunteers! Thank you all for helping cleanup the river! We could not do nearly so much without you as part of the Team.

A Day At The River

A Day At The River

You can see photos from this year’s cleanups on BEAT’s Facebook page.

Next cleanup June 28, 2014, 9 am to 1 pm (lunch provided at the end) – west branch in Pittsfield – These events are a lot of  hard work and a lot of fun.

What YOU should bring;  A refillable water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent –  wear old clothes and sturdy footwear, you will get wet and dirty! Old sneakers, rubber boots, hip boots, or waders. Long pants and long sleeves will avoid insect bites and scratches from walking through brush.

These cleanups are organized by the Housatonic Valley Association (HVA), Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT), First Church on Park Square, and South Congregational Church in Pittsfield.  Cosponsored by the City of Pittsfield, and American Rivers. Pouring rain, thunder, or very high water cancels.

Thank you Panera Bread in Pittsfield for all the many wonderful donations to help feed our hungry volunteers. And to 51 Park St Pizza in Lee, Baba Louie’s in Pittsfield, Guido’s in Pittsfield, and I am sure there will be many more.

For more information or to register, please contact Jane at BEAT jane@thebeatnews.org or 413-230-7321 or Alison at HVA adixon@hvatoday.org  or 413-394-9796.
