MassDEP will hold a public meeting in response to a petition filed by the Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) for Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection to initiate one or more rulemaking proceedings to promulgate new and amended regulations to Implement the Global Warming Solutions Act, An Act Creating a Next-Generation Roadmap for Massachusetts Climate Policy and An Act Driving Clean Energy and Offshore Wind (“2022 Energy Law”). The petition was submitted by CLF on May 3, 2023, (the petition) pursuant to General Laws c. 30A, §4 and 310 C.M.R. 2.00. The text of the petition can be seen at:

In accordance with the relevant provisions of 310 CMR 2.00 et seq. (MassDEP’s regulations for adopting administrative regulations), after receiving CLF’s petition, MassDEP must hold a public meeting and notify CLF of MassDEP’s actions within 10 days after the meeting.

At the meeting, MassDEP will allow time for CLF to present information about the petition, and as time allows, offer the opportunity for comment by interested parties.
