Owl Prowl Walk with Hoffmann Bird Club at Berkshire Biodiversity Day
September 13 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Join Rene Wendell of Hoffmann Bird Club for an evening owl prowl during the 15th Berkshire Biodiversity Day (aka Berkshire BioBlitz). Rene will lead participants on the edge of wooded areas to try and determine who-who-who might be out there during the night. This is a great way to start getting to know some of your local neighborhood owls!
BCC’s campus spans 180+ acres and boasts a diverse range of habitats, including meadows, forests, and wetlands. This walk will involve walking outdoors at night on sloped terrain and may require walking on maintained trails with uneven terrain and raised tree roots and rocks.
DATE: Friday, September 13
TIME: 7:45 PM – 9:00 PM
LOCATION: Berkshire Community College, 1350 West St, Pittsfield, MA — Meet in the Koussevitzky Arts Center lobby, outside of K-111 Auditorium
This walk is one of many activities happening during this year’s Berkshire Biodiversity Day that’s taking place on September 13–14, from noon to noon, on the Berkshire Community College campus. In addition to the expert-led walks, there will be presentations and demonstrations led by experts, all of which are free and open to the public. This year’s program is organized and sponsored by Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT) and Nature Academy of the Berkshires. It’s co-sponsored by Berkshire Community College, Greylock Federal Credit Union, and Panera.
