Full Moon Owl Prowl

Celebrate your local nocturnal feathered friends during Williamstown Rural Lands’ Owl Prowl! Meet live owls and learn about the adaptations that make them such superb hunters of the night with Southern Vermont Natural History Museum, enjoy owl themed crafts and snacks, and join WRL educators on a moonlit hike around Sheep Hill to listen and look for local owls. Parking at Sheep Hill. There are two small-sized gravel parking lot: one is at the bottom of the driveway by the road and the other is behind the farmhouse. There is one ADA accessible parking spot just in front of the farmhouse building. Overflow parking is available at the Bullock Ledge Wildlife Management Area Parking just before the Sheep Hill driveway. Please be careful walking along Rt. 2 if you park here.
Indoor space: The program will take place in the Dietze Interpretive Center, which is an indoor, unheated dairy barn. Seating will be provided and bathrooms are available in the farmhouse next door. There is a ramp to access the barn.
What to bring: Please check the weather before arriving and bring appropriate clothing for the activities you plan to attend. For the hike, sturdy water/snow proof boots, snow/waterproof pants, warm non-cotton layers, jacket, hat, and gloves are recommended. Cramp-ons or snowshoes may be useful if there is snow.
