This year, they have an especially interesting speaker – Kari Kastango, who recently swam the entire Connecticut River, from its beginning just a few yards from the Canadian border to its discharge into Long Island Sound, in Connecticut. Why did she do it? “I got tired of doing flip turns in the pool,” she said and decided to take a dip in her local river in Northampton.
