Join Berkshire Natural Resources Council (BNRC) and the Great Barrington Land Conservancy (GBLC) for a 1-mile beginner winter hike at BNRC’s Housatonic Flats reserve in Great Barrington. If weather permits, participants will snowshoe!

If you don’t have your own snowshoes, BNRC will have some pairs to loan; they’ll have snow snowshoes for kids too. If there’s no snow, you’ll skip the snowshoes and go for a winter hike.

They will review the basics of winter hiking, like what traction to wear on your feet, how to layer properly, and what to look for!

TIME: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

LOCATION: Housatonic Flats Reserve, 439 Stockbridge Rd, Great Barrington, MA 01230

Difficulty: Easy (gentle grades, easy pace), 0.9 miles

What to Bring: Please bring water, wear sturdy footwear and wear layers. BNRC has a few pairs of micro-spikes and snowshoes to loan.

Please leave your furry friends at home for this hike.
